Intermittent Spark on Cyl 1 and 6

I am stuck. Read as many forum post as I could before I started going blind.

I have an 86, CJ-7, 258, fully nuttered, Weber 32/36 carb, Generic HEI dizzy.

Was running fine, went playing at Big Cypress, then started running extremely poorly (power loss, back firing, etc)

On cyl 1 and 6, using an inline spark detector, I am getting intermittent spark. Rest of the cyls look ok. Engine starts fine. Engine idles with obvious miss. Can drive but lots of hesitation and back firing.

I have replaced cap & rotor (Accel 8129), ignition module (BWD CBE4z), plugs (Autolite 985), rotated wires (MSD Street Fire - all ohms < 9), and nothing changes (now I have two sets of everything )....

I have also hooked directly from battery to dizzy and no change....

Timing is at 10

I can disconnect the # 1 while engine is running, and really can't hear a change (same with # 6).... others are noticeable.... I am amazed at this engine!

As it is spark related, I cannot see that it can be anything else but ignition...

Any thoughts?
