The third character of the VIN tells the transmission used originally.

These apply to the '76-79 CJs.

F - 3speed (T150)
M - 4speed (T18)
A - auto (TH400)

What I meant was, what was stock for shimming the skidplate?

A series of thin shims stacked up to about 7/8" to 1" in total height.

Good to know. I'll be leaving the shims in. Any chance that bar stock (pictured earlier) was part of the shimming from the factory?

Just remembered, I plan on getting 33" tires after the suspension is put on ( I run 31s now.) Obviously this will put a little more strain on the drivetrain. You guys still think it'll be good?

It's been awhile, but just wanted to follow through with this thread. Got the suspension installed and there are no driveline vibes, and still does fine with the bigger tires. Happy holidays everyone!
