Will an input shaft from a T-86 fit in a T-15? Thanks!

No. T-15 parts are still out there but tough to find. I would be careful buying T-15 parts. You will end up with way more in the thing than worth and could swap to a more available setup for less. T-15's are as tough as nails, just getting more scarce.

I made a mistake it is a T14 transmission. I am trying to use this trans to replace the T86 behind my Dauntless V6. Will the input shafts interchange. The T14 was behind a 232. Thanks!

Dauntless V6 trannies require a longer input shaft than the AMC straight 6 engines.

You need either a T14 or a T86 from behind another 225. Input shafts are not swappable between different transmissions.

I guess I'll buy an input shaft for the t14 but made for the 225 v6. I can get one for around a $100. Cheaper than rebuilding the t86. Thanks All.

Be advised, the T14 is a marginal transmission at best, and they don't hold up well behind the Dauntless. I believe you can replace the T86 guts with those from the T90. This may be a better option. You can check up on parts on the erlycj5.com website, or contact hermtheoverdriveguy.

I was going with the t14 because I thought it was an upgrade from the t86. If it's not I will stick with the t86. The Advance Adapters tech vault says the t14 is better for the v6 conversion so I am a little confused. Any thoughts?

The T/86/90 is a stronger transmission by far, however, it is a bit balky to shift and you do not get a syncro'd first gear. The T14 shifts better, but they are simply a weak unit and do not hold up well behind the torque put out by the V6. I have seen a number of them break, including my own, which is why I went to the T18.
As far as the tech vault, they may be referring to the ease of adaping of the transmission, not it's strength.
