Info/Pic Request CJ With Rampage Frameless

Hey all,

Looking to get a new top for my CJ soon, got a YJ family bar as my foundation to a full roll cage, no pics yet as it is not done! Anyway, was hoping to use the rounded soft uppers on my half doors since I have a nice set in the garage, but it seems that the rampage yj top only accomodates the squared uppers...?

Anyone have photos of a YJ Rampage frameless top on their CJ? Anyone have other recommendations or pictures of a different approach?

I really like the features of the rampage vice the softopper with the overhead storage and larger windows, but still open to alternatives.

Thanks in advance- Jon

I have the tj rampage top on mine but I also have the tj roll bar too not really any help to you but just figured I would throw it out there. I use tj bestop soft doors with the older cj latches and handles.http://i790.photobucket.com/albums/y...ear2012003.jpg

Yeah I really like the TJ top better with the rounded corner doors. What about the tj roll bar is different than the yj family bar besides some provisions for the door surrounds? You think a TJ top can be made to fit on the yj bar??

Not real sure, I think the rear down tubes are in a little different position.

Yes, don't forget that you will need the door surrounds with the tj top

If you get a chance could you snap some pictures of the surrounds and how they attach? Would like to make them work just need to plan for it..

I have them boxed away for the summer, they use a hole that is already on the top of the tub rail and then two holes in the spreader bar that attaches to the windshield. I could maybe draw you a picture in a little bit.

That's alright I think I figured it out through pictures online... the tub hole just takes a pin on the bottom of the piece it looks like?

Yes it has a foam seal around it

Hate to keep bothering you about this, but I picked up some TJ door surrounds today, and they dont quite reach the windshield, probably about 4" shy. What gives here? Does the TJ "Header Channel" come into play here and take up the rest?

No problem at all, you may have to lean them a little forward. I think mine lack an inch from touching.

Hey so im noticing all CJ corner guards seem to have the taillight holes pre-cut, which is nice and all except I am sure that theyre not in the same exact spot as I cut mine out recently.

Could you do me a big favor and measure from the top of the plate to the top edge of the cutout on your corner armor for me?

Greatly appreciated, Jon

Mine wasn't cut, smittybilt just has the holes for factory lights.
