Idiling issue

Hey all, so my '84 CJ7 has developed this unusual idiling/starting issue and it's basically taxed out my mechanical knowledge so I'm hoping someone on here may have a rough idea of whats going on and will point me in the right direction. When I start her up, unless I give it constant gas the engine sputters and dies out pretty much immediatly. After a few minutes I'm able to lay off the gas and it will continue to run but it is ROUGH. It's not uncommon while driving around for it to sputter out and die at a stop sign. It FEELS like one of the cylinders isnt firing but I'm not sure why. I've checked all of my spark plugs, my leads, my distributor and rotor and as many vacuum lines as I could find and see, so far nothing has really materialized.

I know this is pretty vague but any help would be great.

Thanks y'all and cheers!

I have the inline 6.

Is your choke operational? What vac systems are you running, and have you tested them for leaks?

When is the last time you changed fuel filters, or re-built the carb?
