identify this jeep?

Hey Guys

I think i've found a CJ-5 here but I can't be sure without getting a bit closer. It's on my father in law's neighbor's property so I haven't gotten much closer to have a look. This is the best shot I have and it looks like it's getting posted HUEG LIKE XBOX

obviously I can't tell its value without getting a closer look and identifying any trouble spots with rust in the frame etc (we live in northern ontario and this looks like it had a plow on the front).

let me know your input!

Thanks

You two don't get along or something? It looks like a fun project if you don't have to pay anything for it, maybe a way for you two to bond?

I see military lights on the back and on the front fender. It might be a M38A1.

Contact your father in law, see if he's willing to go see at the neighbour and find out what it is. Maybe he's willing to sell......

what about the metal from the back of the rear tire to the rear corner, it looks like this one has a lot more material then the pictures i've seen of the M38A1.

not that i don't agree with you guys my wife thinks it has a few more inches on it. are there a few years this was built and maybe it got lengthened or are we just seeing things?

oh and no we get a long fine he's just at the mine right now and we are watching his place while he's gone. he just bought the place a few months ago so i've just seen this recently.

I am 99% sure its a M38A1. Also, look at the dash and the removable center section.

Just to compare.

well i will let you guys know when/if i get it home. i dropped the hint to the wife about wanting it for father's day jokingly but it looks like we might be able to get it done. well that's if the owner who clearly has no interest in it will part with it.

any idea what a fair offer on that would be? I'm thinking $500 TOPS.
