I need to ID this transmission for a 68 CJ

OK, I have a guy down the street I am trying to help fix his CJ, its a 68 with a 6cyl and it has a 3 speed tranny, I thought it was a t14 but inside the main shaft doesn't have a straight spline, it has a twist and its larger than the known t14 I have. can anyone help me ID it?

I cant find anything on the site. one thing though, the case of the t14 and this one look exactly the same, its only the insides that are different. I just cant seem to google find an image of the main shaft with this twist. does anyone know of a main shaft with a twist?

OK, I found it, its a t86, its the only one I find with a twist and cutting away some gunk, it has T86AA-1B on the side.

SO...... anyone have one for cheap? or any first gear and cluster gear? thats whats stripped in this one.

Thx

T86 parts are hard to come by. The upside is the guts form a T90 will drop right in the case. You can either rebuild it with the 90 parts or replace the box completely. He also has the option to upgrade to a four speed.

Maybe you are thinking t98 and t18 are very similar.
