It still has a flat look I just wanted to add a little shine to it. I'll post more pictures once the Jeep is put back together.
That help?
Thanks for taking the time to reply and the good info. A yellow Jeep. Why would anyone do that. Here's mine, on its way to get exhaust plumbing (a few years ago). I chose a Gm yellow that was used on Corvettes and Z28 Camaros (circa 1969).

For what it's worth, I like what I see, so far.

Good Luck

It's official! The Jeep will be chrome yellow w/ black wheel wells, engine bay, & accents! Oh! And, black TONKA decals. I just ordered all black seat covers, too.
The sound bar that I ordered doesn't fit the new front roll cage... So, I'm having a custom overhead sound bar made. I'm EXCITED!!!

Out w/ the tan & stainless... In w/ the Black!

Dropped off several things today to be sandblasted & powder coated! Then took care of a few others myself...

What paint are you using on the seats and trim? Is it vinyl/ plastic specific? Are you using any sort of cleaner and primer before the black paint?

I cleaned everything w/ cleaning wipes & did not prime. Here's a pic of the paint can... This is only used on the seats, doors, arm rest pad, roll bar covers, and visors. I used truck bed liner on the ammo cans and door handles. I used plasti-dip on the turn signal rock guards. All of the main dash pieces, I had sandblasted & powder coated (11 pcs for $50).

Nice work.

I'm curious to see how long the paint lasts on the seats. I used the same paint on my fender flares, and was disappointed with the durability.

This "bumble bee" theme is going to look sharp.

Matt

I was asking because of wear. I have heard about paint not adhering good to plastic and vinyl. I could only buy (new) black seat belts for my Bronco and used this system to paint the female end of the buckle by the console. I believe i purchased the paint from Eastwood. I never installed them since I found a good set in a junkyard so unfortunately I can't say if it would be any better. The truck wasn't wrecked so I was ok using them the junkyard belts. I would hate to see it start wearing or flaking off after a short time and all that effort on your part.

Just got caught up on this thread! That is a good looking Jeep and I have to compliment you on your level-headedness! I would've flipped with the MC issue(s) and would've went homicidal with the hood issue!

That's how I know you're true military! Roll with the punches and move on...that's why I just couldn't hang for too long (prior Navy).

Thanks for serving!

Where are the pictures of the 'new' black parts in the CJ? How much longer are we going to have to wait to see the Jeep in yellow?

It's been a challenge to keep my temper in check... But, a few (or several) deep breaths & let it go! Haha. I try anyway. I've definitely learned to roll w/ the punches... Do what you can w/ the cards you're dealt... Do more w/ less... Improvise... And, never give up. I'm over 13 yrs now & love my job!

And, Thank you- for serving & now supporting!

Hopefully I'll have something to post soon! It should've been done last week, but they found some rust & wanted to take care of that first!

Anyone in SC looking for custom work should check this guy out!

I dropped the seats off, checked on the Jeep, & had a beer this afternoon. It looks like they got all of the rust & it'll start coming together soon! Tomorrow I will stop by West Wateree Off-Road to find out why think it's ok to use the hood that I specifically asked them NOT to use. I'll try to post that update tomorrow evening! Ugh....
