I wasn't there. The shop took it to have the exhaust done & were driving it back afterwards. I knew nothing until I showed up- thinking I was taking my Jeep home. That's when the owner took me outside & showed me the damage. Personally, Yes- I would've known to check the hood before driving it.

Just loosen the gas cap a bit and see if that corrects the problem. If so then you're drawing a vacuum in the tank.

There are two theories to arguing with a woman....................Neither works.

That can be fixed quite easily by any competent body man. And yeah, if that had happened at my shop I guarantee we would fix it. What a POS.

Ok, Guys... I'm starting to get over the paint issue. I'm not giving up but, I'm going to take advantage of this! I'll make sure they do what's right & I'll take care of the rest! So, now to decide what color my Jeep will be when it's all said & done.

It only takes a "little" time and money . I like.

A couple of questions if you don't mind. I'm assuming the grill cover and light trim pieces are chromed. Did you scuff the surface for prep before applying the Plast-Dip? And ... From the pictures, it looks like it has a matte/satin finish (what I'm looking for). Is that the finish?

Good Luck and Thanks in Advance.

They are both chrome, yes. And, no you don't need to scuff, sand, or prime. From what I've read all that's needed is a clean & dry surface. For the black- you can buy gloss or matte. The smoke is a matte finish. I did 2 coats of the black on the headlight retainers & 4 coats of the smoke on the grille. I also added 1 coat of clear gloss plasti-dip on top of the smoke. It still has a flat look I just wanted to add a little shine to it. I'll post more pictures once the Jeep is put back together.
That help?

Update on the paint & hood issue:

New hood is being delivered today. I got 3 different quotes on the paint & time frame to have it complete... I chose the middle quote after seeing some of his work. He's picking the Jeep up next week & said he'll need to have it for 10 days. By the end of the month it will be YELLOW!

It's all going to be ok! I really do like the guys up there- I was just frustrated. I've taken several pics already & I'll take more. I can't wait to have it back at home!
