I made it!!!

Hey guys, I know this may not seem like much, but my 1983 Jeep CJ5(Inline 6) made it across the state (MI). It was a 3 and half hour Highway drive.

I have had the jeep for 6 years and had never taken it above 55 -60mph since the engine was rebuilt.

Kept it at a cool 70 mph and got it to 80 mph just to see what she got.

As expected got 14 -15 miles per gallon.

Arrived intact with a only a few new oil drops

Oil worked its way out around the rubber oil cap, my home made mechanical fuel pump hole cover, and around the dizzy.

Nothing major went wrong

Thanks for all the help you guys gave me while I was preparing for this trip. Its now my daily and will see a lot more highway time.

Thanks

kov

Great! Now as a CHPpie once said to me late one night, "Try to keep it on the planet." Always good news to hear that a CJ is dependable!

I'd rather be lost on the trails than found at home!
