The flywheel, clutch, starter & trans are from the CJ- they should all match-
im just wondering if the flywheel will interfere w/ motor balance ? I just read tho that 258's are internally balanced so the flywheel wont make a difference- not sure what to think ?
Now I am also concerned w/ the harmonic balance as well if it is gona effect over all balance...
The inline sixes are all internally balanced. You can take a flywheel from any 258 and install it on any other 258 or even any 232 or 4.0, provided the starter used is compatible. It won't hurt a thing.
Even if the sixes were externally balanced both engines are 258s, which would have the same balance.
Thank you guys, I'll feel better now... My pops an I got it running yesterday/today...took the risk w/ the flywheel & harmonic balancer would work out... She purrs like a kitten : ) Thank you for replying-Much appreciated!!!
