Did you use anything to attach the carpet to the tub?

On the front piece of carpet, no. The seats, gear shift covers, and roll bar hold it down nicely.

On the rear cargo area, I used some small self tapping screws at 'the step' which were covered by the rear piece of carpet.

Hope this help.

Use velcro at the top of the wheel wells under the lip where brake wiring goes.

Thanks. Didn't really want to use glue as the descriptions of the carpet suggest.

My front and rear drive shafts from Tom Woods are supposed to be delivered on Tuesday of this week. According to Tom, the rear angle wedges have to be changed to 12 degree from 8 degree. Tom Woods is supplying those.

In the front, I have to flip my 4 degree wedges around with the fat end forward to fix my caster angle to the detriment of my pinion angle.

Oh well, I guess you don't always get everything right on the first try.

This week has been productive...

all wiring is complete including the electric fuel pump and the radiator fan.

Tested the electrical today and fixed two minor problems that I can't really take the blame for.

Pulled the heater box out to fix the heater fan which was rubbing on the housing. Blazer motor upgrade here. Turns out, I needed to get the fan on the shaft a little further than I had it.

With electrical issues out of the way, we turned the engine over a few times today. That was great. Thank God, the starter engaged properly. (new bell housing etc.)

Finishing up the final fuel line plumbing tomorrow AM when UPS arrives with some fittings from Summit.

The carb is on, all the hoses are done. This baby is almost ready to crank for the first time. Tomorrow may be the day. Keep your fingers crossed for me as it was my first engine build.

The drives shafts from Tom Woods also arrived. Very quickly I might add. They are sweet!

Today, the hard line to flex fuel line parts came in, minus a couple of critical parts. So, no starting of the 383 today

I installed the BTW rocker panels today. Freshly painted, I like the results.

The fender flares are part # OAI11601.01. I cringe to say that they came from 4wd.com. I no longer do business with them, so I can't pass along a recommendation.

Great news, the 383 fired up, idled, and ran great. After 33 months to the day, I get to hear the wonderful sound of this motor. The valves seem to be spot on at this point.

Time to celebrate tonight! This is the first motor I have ever built, so to fire it up and hear it run is most rewarding!
