I have a long way to go to get to where you are. Trying to figure out how to upload pics. Help!
Actually, just an etching primer and gloss black on the frame and axle housings.

Ok, I am not sure what is more frustrating, installing a new AGR gear box by yourself, or paying big $$ for a super duty gear box mount and most of the holes are just enough out of alignment to make you yell.

Now thats what I am talking about, I enjoy seeing that frame there with the motor, as much as the whole jeep completed, I eat this stuff up, its awesome... just getting ready to do one myself, I started a buildup of cj7 thread looking for advice

Did you do anything to prevent the inside of the frame from rusting?

With some help, I sat the tub on the frame today. Boy was that motivating!

I needed to check engine clearance, everything worked out fine. Pics to follow. I am going to have to make room for the Dana 300 shifter, just not sure how much yet. Should know tomorrow.

Hutch,

So im looking into tearing my jeep down and cleaning and rebuilding...can I borrow some floor space? just kidding on the floor space, its looking great man cant wait to see more pics...and I hope my restore looks half as good as yours, fatmans, or any of the others that I follow for that matter...The only sad thing is its gona take me a long time due to the fact I work outside the US and only come home once in a while...Oh well it relaxes me to work on my jeep...
Keep it up and look forward to more pics...

Here are some progress photos

It is nice to see the body back on the frame

Yeah, the distributor clears the firewall and the fenders clear the headers. They have been trimmed before.

Got the steering box, TRF etc. completed, heavy duty gear box mount, and brace.

More pics to follow...

Another shot of the tie rod flip and the angle with the drop pitman arm.

The Jet Hot coating look sweet. The 4" glass packs are coated too, but not installed.

More to follow later tonight. Got to go.

How tall is that garage door opening? I had issues in my condo with it just BARELY being able to come out when I built up the rig. Didn't really notice it until the bigger meats and windshield frame was put on... then I started to worry.

Now the new house has a garage door opening of 9 feet... much nicer...

Looks great Hutch. The headers look great. How quick and what $$ did Jet Hot come in at?

Looking nice Hutch. You actually got my butt in gear to get my suspension on my frame a few weeks ago. I still am looking for that time to get back to the project. Then you get the tub on and I am wondering what those tubs are sitting in my yard for. I better get cracking, or the city will start offering to remove them for me!

I do have a question about your tub. What did you coat the underside with?
The primer white... type?

I will be getting my tub blasted soon and want to get all my paints ready and applied besfore it even thinks of rusting.

The one thing that I feel like I don't have a clue about is painting. I have a guy very close to me that does classic car restorations for a living and also general body work etc. So when my frame and body came back from the bead blaster he did the priming and painting that you see so far.

I do know that the primer is an epoxy etching primer. I will try to find out more info. I haven't done nearly the job that Fatman has done with body prep. If I could handle a paint gun, I would copy Fatman EXACTLY. He may be the example to follow.

I can handle a rattle can, but that is about it.
