Looks like I'm behind both of you (Fatman and cshutchinson)... is that Powder Coated after the bead blast? I've been rebuilding my axles first... I plan on cutting out the cancer on the frame and starting on it. I was thinking of POR15 and then Chassis Coat... but whatever you did, it looks great!

AWESOME!!!

clouby, I just saw your pics of your Scrambly and it seems like you took quite a whack to the firewall when you removed the tub.

The only question I have is why didn't you have some people help you lift it off instead of pull it off?

I guess the good news is that if it was that weak and bent easily, it is good to know that up front and you can fix it now.

My finish consisted of a self etching epoxy primer and a non traditional gloss black top coat. I had second thoughts about using the gloss rather than semi gloss, but I think it turned out great.

Nice Jeep, is that a six into one header that you have there?
Reason that I am asking is that I ran into a guy with a 74 Javelin the other day with a 232 six into one and it sounded sweet, like a V8.

Here is an updated picture guys. I just finished building the 383. The block is a 1999 Vortec 5.7L out of a 99 Chevy pickup. Dang, it took me forever.... But, I learned a heck of a lot about building a motor; not that I knew much to start with.

My goal is to have this thing done by the end of summer. Maybe it will happen.

Advance Adapters is holding up the transmission / bell housing by constantly sending incorrect parts and leaving out other essential ones, but they are easy to work with and happy to correct the problems.

I can't believe it has already been a year since my last post. Where does time go....

Thanks for looking.

They are 35 x 12.5 Super Swamper radials on 15 x 10 MTs.

I actually moved the project to the garage beside my house. The other shop is used for my business and too much stuff was going on around my never ending project.

Do you plan on doing any body lift at all? Will just the Rubicon Express 4.5" kit fit 35s?

I suspect some small amount of body lift will be required, I am just not sure how much yet. Maybe someone can chime in who has done it.

Mr. Hutchinson take a look at my tub thread, I just set the tub for the last time.
Should give you an idea of what the RE 4.5 and a 1 inch BL will sit at.

Your build is looking good, cant wait to see ot progress. Love the shop!
