As far as your check eng light it will probably go out after 20 or so miles. Every time you disconnect power to the computer the ECM will lose its learned program and have to relearn your eng parameters. This is also true if you adjust your idle air or change you fuel pressure at you regulator.

basically im trying to figure out how to wire up my HEI distributor to my 4.3TBI harness to make it control the spark, it cant use anything from the original jeep harness. and i will weld the vacuum advance stuff to make it not work...

and cant find a diagram to explain what i need to do, my HEI has the coil in the cap if that matters

Go to www.binderplanet.com and then to their EFI forums. Read the stickies posted by USN_Bill (I think that's the name). You'll find wiring diagrams for the PCM to control spark. You will need a different ignition module (GM 7-pin) since you have the HEI with the coil in the cap. It's not difficult at all if your wiring harness is already setup for it.
