Howell injection system

My friend has a cj7 with 304 engine with a Howell injection system. His engine is getting old and he wants too buy a new engine. He wants too buy a 360 amc engine.

Will his Howell injection system also work with this 360 amc engine or can he fase some problems and must he change his howell computer?

Howell will program a new chip for the 360. Everything else will work. The chip costs $150-$200 I think.

Call them.

It will probably need different injectors as well.

The best thing to do is call them, as mentioned.

Shouldn't need new injectors at all, just program the chip for the 360. Just pull the intake off the 304 and install on the 360. Exhaust should bolt up if not an earlier square bore exhaust, make sure to get a 360 with dog-leg heads like the 304.

It is just a chip mod. Get up with BESRK (Eddie) our moderator. He took a Howell system designated for a 304 and installed it on his 360.
