How to remove steering wheel

for a 74 cj5 how do you remove steering wheel I have a puller but there is only the center shaft that is threaded no 3 holes for the bolts...is there any tricks out there? I beat the crap out of wheel and it is not moving that I can tell.

I had to cut mine off. I notched ther collar that slides around the steering shaft. Luckily I was replacing it otherwise it would be very tough. I tried everything including using ratchet straps coming off the roll bar to try and pull it to no avail!

its pressed on a splined shaft and should press off with a 2 jaw gear puller not a regular steering wheel puller.Sorry maybe splined is the wrong word it may be a square key stock in a slot
