How often do i repack my bearings for routine maintenance?

How frequently should this be done? And has anyone ever used marine grade grease (the blue stuff) to help repel water and salt? An issue here on the water in Florida. Edumacate me forum!

The factory manual says ever12,500 miles or 12 1/2 months. It also says to inspect the seals every oil change. If I was running it in salt water pretty regular I would think yearly would be the minimum. I would check the seals regularly. Mileage and driving conditions all play a part in scheduled maintenance. You know how and where you drive so you should be the judge.

And the use of marine grease? It is for boat trailers that have the same rpm as my wheels so it should offer the same protection no? And you're right. Usage dictates but my military mind Is used to scheduled and interval whether necessary or not.

Check to make sure the marine grease is rated for high temps you find with disc brakes if you are still considering it.
