Go old school like the old 1/4 tons we had in the army. Hook up a switch on the dash to turn the power on and mount a brights foot switch up above the hump for the bell housing and start it with your foot.

remember hot wire from battery to coil. hot wire from starter to battery, and a $10 momentary on switch/constant on switch toggle. done.

I got friends who loose there keys a lot.

I got the turn-switch for power and the push-button for starter, and had no idea it was cool. Actually, before I read this thread, I really hadn't thought much about it. Good thing I live on the farm, eh?
