They all want to sell me a 904.I know the 904 is for a 4 cyl. They all say they cant get a 999 but can get a 904 or a 727.If I use a 998 for my core will they be able to tell the diff(if I get a727). Has any one else had this prob.

Good luck with that...not exactly a mainstream item so I doubt very seriously that you'll find what you're after. Find a 999/32RH out of a CJ/YJ/TJ and if it needs to be rebuilt have a trans shop do it. They're not as easy to find as manuals, but they're out there...I know where there's 3 in IL right now (I'm buying one and may be one of the others too...I like to keep one or two on the shelf when I come across good deals on them) and one of them was already rebuilt and is cheap.

'86 CJ-7 Laredo: 4.2,T-999,D300,D30/D44,'94 YJ tub, full cage, Shrockworks rockers, OYR corners, AC,cruise, restored seats,3 tops,2.5" Superlift,F-T shackle reversal, RS9000x's,35" Dunlop Mud Rovers.
'83 Scrambler: time & money pit under construction with parts from CJ's,YJ's,TJ's,FSJ's,GM,Ford,IH,Honda,Toyota and a whole lotta aftermarket & custom stuff.

Have you tried asking for a tranny for a 6cyl YJ? It's the same application.

A TF998 from an eagle will bolt up as well.

1985? Jeep CJ-7: 360, 999, D300, LOMAX 4:1, Dana 44s, 4.10's, Aussies front & Detroit rear. S0A, York OBA, YJ tub, 36" IROKs-
1989 YJ Sahara: 258, puko tranny, np231. 2-3" spring and 2" body lift. 33" TSLs- latest project.
