How did amc/jeep apply 1976 renegade decals/stripes

In my Quest to restore this 1976 CJ7 Levis renegade back to that factory look.

I got to wondering if the 'renegade' decals on the hoods of them were all decals or partial paint or all paint...?

I need to pull the jeep out of storage next month and really get a good look at it.

The reason I ask is because they almost look like a combination of paint and decal. The factory has codes for copper, gold, and black labeled 'striping'

food for thought....

Ben

I did original 83 renegade decals on a Loden green cj7 I painted and I liked how the Phoenix graphics turned out.

For some reason it looked like some hand painting was done on this 76' I'm about to do. But 35 years will change the looks of alot of things on a jeep!

My 84 has decals and they are faded and worn. Some of the letters look as if they were paint on but it the way ink wore off.
