How can I identify my CJ5?
I have an 81 CJ5 that has been restored. By looking at the original pics I believe it is a renegade. I would like to put correct decals on it, but I want to be sure what it is. It has a 258 w/4speed T170. The original paint was a rust brown with yellow, tan, and orange stripes. Is there any place I can run the vin?
Thanks ![]()

Jeep kept terrible records as to what packages each vehicle had. The most you'll come up with running a VIN is the year, engine, tranny, and production number.

I have a tach and clock
Did the tach and clock only come on certain trim packages?
