Holley Pro-jection question

I have a 79 CJ7 with a 304. The 304 that is in it from what I am being told is not the original engine that came with it. It has a 4 bolt harmonic balancer instead of a 3 bolt, which would be for that year. I am told the 4 bolt balancers were in the earlier years around 72 and had a higher horse power rating

I was in the market to buy a holley truck avenger 470 for my 304 when I came across a guy selling a new holley pro-jection 670 two barrel system for the same price as the truck avenger. My question is would the pro-jection 670 cfm be to much for the 304. The 304 has some cam modifications and possible boring to it. I didn't build the engine, so not sure.

Should be fine on your motor. Holley has a 650cfm and recommends it for anywhere from 150 - 300 hp. Check the software and computer firmware versions and make sure they're not out dated. Can call Holley and they can tell you what the most recent version is.
