Holes in grill - what are they for??

There are 3 holes in the drivers side of the grill on my '77 CJ7. They appear to be factory but what do I know? Triangular in pattern between the headlamp and turn signal. Was there a badge of some kind here??

If they are from one of the PO's over the last 34 years then they are going to get welded shut. If there is something that goes there I would like to find it and install.

Any help??

Paul

I have a '77, and don't see any holes on mine in that area.

Looks like they may be from a grill overlay. Maybe one of the po's had one on there.??? Are there any more of them?
