Hinges, leave black powdercoated after paint? (Project Utilitarian help)

Not sure what to do with all my hinges on the jeep. The hood, windshield, doors, tailgate. I just suspect that If I paint them, they will crack when folding, or get knicked when I try to wiggle the half doors on. That would suck. I would probably get stainless bolts for them so it doesnt look totally "jcwhitney"
I do plan on leaving the windshield black, and white rims, for the old fashioned look.

Does anyone have any pics of this hinge setup, or know if it would look retarded?

Comments appreciated. This lingers in my head all day.

I would leave them powdercoated black or polished s.s. just to help brake up the paint a little and your right they will eventually crack.

I have a set of stainless hinges and they have been really nice. Theyre still pretty shiny after about 4 or so years. Im repainting my jeep right now and thinking about going back to my original hinges painted a semigloss black. The body will be a dark bluish color and all the trim pieces will be the semigloss black, i think it will look pretty good. I am a little worries abotu the hinges cracking and rusting, but if they start to get bad i can always take them off and give them a quick touchup with the spray can.

I just went through a long tedious process of repainting my entire Jeep including the hinges... now that I've done it, in retrospect I would have left them black powdercoated. I've already chipped my perfect paint job on or around a couple of my hinges.... it's simply bound to happen. I'll probably be putting on a new set of black hinges here soon.
