it has 200k on it and still goin strong every day...anyways...
ive noticed a slight tap or knock when i turn the wheel left or right..seems to be coming from the wheel area.. seems a bit more pronounced on the right turn... what would this be...

Welcome oldtimer,

You have a YJ just for future reference.

Sorry I can't say for sure what your problem is but my guess would be a front axle u-joint. Maybe someone else will have another idea

With the engine running for the power steering, have someone turn the wheel back and forth to make it knock, while your underneth or up front checking the sound. I found mine to be a slight shift of a front spring at the main eye bolt. Unless your hand/ ear was there, you couldn't tell where it was comming from, but you sure could feel/hear it threwout the whole Jeep.
