hesitaion problems

i have the stock one bbl carb on my 258 completly stock. i've got it runnig good and put a new clutch in it and am hoping to get it out in the mud and what not but it has a hesitation problem. when i hit the gas there is a 1/2 second hesitation.by the way i just rebuilt the carb. i've checked the the vacuum hoses( the ones that have not been pluged up) and i've changed the fuel filter and tweaked the carb several times. i can't figure it out.

also does any one have diagram of the vac lines so i replace all the ones that have been pluged and the ones that are not thereunless anyone knows why someone would do that
