HELP! VIN Research!

I've got what's supposed to be a '49 CJ-2A
The local cops want to know EXACTLY what year this vehicle is so I can get a title search and title/plates.

The Serial plate says "CJ2A 1495XX" and I can't find my link to the early serial numbers!

HELP! Anyone have the link to the early serial number pages?!

according to this, I'd bet it's a '48

Jeep VIN identification 55-71 Jeep Universal

since 1948 CJ-2A's were sequenced 148459-222581, and the 1949's were 222582 and up

Thanks man!

Just got back from the state department of motor vehicles, and they say it's a '48 also...

Looks like I'm actually going to get a title for this rust bucket!

I believe you need to post a pic or two of said 'rust bucket'... Flatties are too far and few between around here!

thing about the flatties, when they was made, they made in huge volumne, some did not get a title and number till it was sold due to huge inventory. It could be made in 46 and was listed as a 48 when it was sold.

this info is from the cj3b page
