When the parking lights are off and the turn signal is flashing, the marker sees ground through the parking light circuit and flashes in sync with the turn signals.
When the parking lights are on and the turn signal is flashing the marker sees ground through the turn signal circuit while the turn signal is off and thus you get the out of sync flash.
I hope this makes sense to someone other than me.

Yea! I understand. Thanks Buddy, Bill
So the OP needs to check the connections of the side marker, like my first picture, and I knew about the grill ground, I think he does also.

Thank you all for all of the information, damn near an overload. This is whats gonna happen. I am going to rip out the headlights and fog lights to hopefully get to wiring. I have seen by peering around that a majority of those connections are covered in duct tape, yes duct tape. cant believe what I saw but I guess it is common. So after I get in there Im gonna replace all of those connections, run some new wiring(white wire) and hopefully that might get me going here. Then after all of that I need to fix some scuffed paint on my front bumper due to the jeep colliding with the garage door. Door didnt fair so well. Jeep-1 Garage door-0 haha whoops!!

Bill, real quick question for you, little off subject here. I ran across a post that you replied to in regards to a temp sender issue being mechanical. Well you posted a pic of your temp sender that was located at the front of the intake manifold. Now it looks like you have an adapter to your temp sender itself and I wanted to confirm that, then I was wondering if that was a universal sender that is 3/8 instead of the small little guy that you find in the books. Now I ask this because aside from that miserable side marker this is another problem that has given me hell. I have power running to the sender, it is a brand new sender, I have done some simple troubleshooting to it but it cant be that hard. I have even gone to the extent of hooking a ground directly from the battery to the brass sender to see if that would spark anything. I know the gauge works because when i plug it to the temp something else on the manifold it goes all the way to overheating. what do you think. my temp sender is installed using 2 adapters to get it to fit in the 5/8 hole in the manifold. might not be getting to the temp of the coolant?

Just FYI... I was having trouble with my turn signal/parking lights. Pulled the headlights and marker lights. Pulled the connections apart and slathered them up with dialectic grease. Put them back together and everything worked great! The connection was just old and the dialectic grease helped the old plugs get a better connection.
I did find that the marker lights barely worked w/o the headlights hooked up, but once it was all plugged in it worked like a champ...

Buckleshoot - your talking about the connections for both the fog and headlights right?

Sorry for the delay, I missed your post...
I was planning on redoing all the connections when I had the lights out of the grill (I was painting my bezels). When I had the connections apart they looked very dry, so I thought I'd throw some dialectic grease on them and BAM, everything worked!!! I still probably need to go in and clean up the PO's connections as many of them are not crimped properly, not sealed properly, etc... For now I've just been fixing the stuff that doesn't work, but at some point I need to go through everything. As of right now, everything is working so I'm going with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" method...
