Registered User | I have a 1981 DJ5 postal jeep that I bought several years ago from a local rural mail carrier who retired. Mine has an Iron Duke engine and a Chrysler automatic transmission. I think they all came with automatics. I have been told they use the old style (early 1970's) short CJ-5 frame and are 2WD. I bought it because it has the same motor as my 1980 CJ-7 and the price was right. I was originally thinking about converting it to a CJ-5. It would take a lot of time and work, probably not worth the effort. __________________ '80 CJ-7 Iron Duke (project) '97 ZJ 5.2 V8 (wife's car, not really my style, I prefer old CJs) '99 TJ 4.0 Sahara (daily driver for now) |
