Help me find an old lost family treasure

I have been on the hunt for several years for a long lost family treasure. My dad purchased a 73 CJ5 in the cool orange brand new. He drove it for 17yrs as his daily driver and embedded the jeep heritage deep within me. I have all of the original paperwork, returned bank check for the purchase and several of the service records. I came close one day, and found one that the last number in the vin was only two numbers off!!! I would love to know where it is and hopefully bring it back in to the family one day.

VIN j3f835te37374

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try searching through you state or county records. Or a VIN search. What happened to the Jeep? Did he sell it?

You can only do carfax from 1981 and up, that will be of no help, his VIN is fine for a 73...

Search the vin and talk to every owner that is registered.

correct vin, pre 81. searched the state records some, had a leo help me and also ran it through insurance database ( i'm an agent) to no luck. My father sold it at a dealership in Roswell, Ga, and the sales manager bought it directly for himself. It has been 23 years since that happened and that dealership has long since gone

I wish you the best of luck. My dad purchased a 73 new also, drove it for years and then it was handed down to me and my brother. I finally rebuilt it and that Jeep means the world to me. I will NEVER part with it. I have been looking for years for a 71 F250 my father sold. I am sure I will never find it as a military man bought it to move.
