Help! at the junk yard

This may be answered somewhere but I'm on my cell phone so it's hard to search. I wanted to know if an older Cherokee (late 80's??) brake booster would work to convert my 85 cj7 to power brakes. Also, there's a wagoneer. Would the monster size brake booster, the power steering box, or power steering pump from the wagoneer work? What's my best option?

if the wagoneer has an AMC V8 in it, grab the power steering pump brackets. Trust me, these aren't easy to find and when you do they are usually pricey. Even if you dont need them, someone else will. AMC uses the same bracket on all their V8s.

Anytime I come across those brackets at a junkyard, I snag them.

No, the brackets match the engine. You would need a Chevy bracket set.

I think they just like the idea of if you find them, you may be able to help them out and sell them to them, unless you ever planned to put an AMC V8 into your CJ..

Going back to the original question, the fullsize Jeep boosters interfere with the rod that goes between the cowl and the grille.

I got a 90 yj booster, mc, bracket, and proportion valve. Just trying to figure out what I need to do. I've read that people have to weld the rod that goes to the pedal (I don't know how to weld and don't have a welder). Also, the proportion valve is all the way down on the frame so I guess I'll need new brake line to go from the brakes to the valve that's just below the mc. I saw several tubes that go to the carb air filter and another line that went in to the side of the engine on the yj. I thought it would be a pretty easy swap but now I have doubts that I'll be able to do it.

$75-125

I've seen them up to 150 and beyond.

Not a bad deal considering they likely cost $50 tops at a JY

Not really if you just post a thread in JeepForum's Wanted Forum. People forget its there all the time and always want to go straight to eBay or aftermarket re-sellers for some reason (especially CJ owners).
