Help!!...First Jeep....differential issue!!!

Just bought my first Jeep, it's a '83 CJ 7 with a Dana 30 front and AMC 20 rear....the front ring gear and pinion were shot and already disassembled when I purchased it,the previous owner pulled the carrier group out and didn't mark anything as far as the straps for the carrier bearings are I have a coffee can full of parts, and an empty housing to start with and from what I have read,it's pretty crucial that the straps go back the same place/direction they came off.......I have ordered a new True Trac carrier and gear set for the front as well as an install kit but I only have one shot to get it right.......So how can I tell which bearing strap goes where and the direction to re-install properly?
