Help -- Engine Problems 62 CJ5 4-134 Hurricane

I sort of a Newbee on this site and I'm pulling what little hair I have left --out. My engine is popping on acceleration and has lost power...when I try to wind it out in any gear it loses power and bucks and pops. So here's what i have done already. Dry compression test 140, 130, 125, 140. Wet compression test 170, 150, 145, 155.
Leak down test 57% (within moderate range on the tester gauge) for each with only some air noise coming from crankcase. If I crank up the pressure on the leak down tester I get some exhaust pipe air out of #3.
Replaced carb with a new Solex from Kaiser Willys -- the engine is acting the same way as it did with the Carter carb.
New points and condenser
Timed the engine
New plugs and wires
Tested coil for resistance -- OK
I've ordered a new distributor and coil from Kaiser Willys -- should be here next week.
Anybody have any ideas?

Do not need to pull crank.
