Help in Colorado Springs

I'm considering purchasing a jeep for sale in Co. Springs and I need some help if there is anyone on the forum in that area. I'm looking for someone who would be willing to drive over and take a look at the Jeep, I'm in Louisiana and I hate to buy it sight unseen. It's an 84 CJ7 at "The Car Show", I spoke with John Novak.

I'm looking for an outside opinion as to the rust on this jeep, how it runs and your opinion as to whether or not I could fly up there, buy the jeep and drive it home (about 1150 miles).

If anyone is in the area and has time, please email me or DM me here on the site.

Thanks!

Mike

Mike,

Where is it in the Springs? I'm about 20 minutes from the NE side of town.

Fair warning, though, I'll have my check book with me, in case it's a steal.

Also in the Springs...and no checkbook. lol. Also, I'm relatively new to the whole Jeep thing.
Give me a list and I'll check it out. Beyond that, I can guarantee nothing.

to my untrained eye, looks to be on the NE side. Address is 3015 N. Nevada Avenue.

Oh, and no Jeep stealing!

No underneath or under hood shots? Definitely needs eyeballs on it before another dime on even a phone call to the dealer.

Judging by the interior picture, I don't think I would drive a block to look at it.( not for myself anyway)

Going by the front shackles, I don't think I would drive it the 20 miles to Matt's house!

That is the jeep. I talked to the guy already, it supposedly has a
4.0 swapped in. I don't know from what, I didn't have a chance to visit
Because I was at work.

Under hood shots, someone's opinion of the rust and if anyone in the area has time a test drive are what I'm hoping for.

I would ask him to pull up the mats and take a couple photos of each front foot well. That will usually give you an idea of body rust. Also photos of the frame.

I caught that too. 1150 miles of death wobbles, lane hopping etc...
Pack LOTS of clean underwear!

Guys, thanks for your input. I'm worried about the shackles too. That's why I'm hoping someone will have time for a test drive that could save me a number of pairs of underwear.

I've experienced death wobble once and I prefer to avoid it in the future. That one time was probably as scared as I've ever been while driving.

Just wanted to say thanks! to all who replied and offered assistance in evaluating this Jeep. After some additional pictures, I've decided to pass on this one and keep looking. I really appreciate the community response and the offers of assistance.
