Help with another "How much is this jeep worth?" thread

I know it is hard to answer these questions but I thought I would give it a shot. I am looking at a 86 CJ-7 with the following:

Dana 60 front, Tera 60 rear with arb air lockers
Atlas 3.8 transfer case
Cheby 350 with howe tbi
4.56 diff gear set
8" lift with front coils and super stout heims
howe ram assist stearing
37" MTR's in great condition
Body is in so, so shape and the overall frame integrity is good
Hardtop and hard doors
extended wheel base, (guy said he did all the welding himself) do I worry about this?

Anyway, he wants a firm $12,000, I wish the body was better, its dented and showing rust in a few spots, what do you jeep gurus think? thanks for the help.

Price out what it would cost you to duplicate his efforts and then determine if it's worth it to you. Sounds like a hardcore rig, so I wouldn't expect a nice body on it.

Sounds pretty tuff! I'd like to see pics of it. If it's in decent mechanical shape, then the $12k might not be too bad.. sounds like it has a lot of pricey parts..
