How are the heater control knobs removed from the shaft?

There is a small set screw. You will need an allen key to get it out. I am not sure of the size though.

Mine have a spring clip in behind them that has to be depressed with a mini screwdriver to free them from the shaft. The clip moves to the rear of the jeep for release. There is a little notch on the bottom of the knob where the release is.

Hey Mike, are these all different? Mine are just held with the set screw.

As far as I've seen the factory ones are the clips and I've seen aftermarket ones that use the set screw.

All the ones I have seen were spring clips. I have seen set screws in aftermarket stuff.
