Heater control knobs

Hey everyone!

I just pulled the dash from my 81 cj5 to fix a few nagging problems, and had a question. How do you get the knobs off of the heater controls? I am going to replace them with the billet ones, and i did remove all of the controls from the heater box, but i must be missing something with the knobs.

What do you think?????

I use a screwdriver into the notch to remove it.

The heater blower, wiper switches have a clip inside you have to depress to release the knob.

The heater control for defrost, Air, Temp have to be cut off or mashed as they are molded to the cable. Cut the knob not the shaft.

THe headlight also needs to be cut off. You can remove the whole shaft with the release button on the switch. This makes it easy to cut off the knob.
