Headlight Switch Replacement Options

Pretty sure my original headlight dash headlight switch has seen better days and needs replaced. What are some general "auto parts store" options for replacement. I only care about functionality and don't care what it looks like. I have to keep it easy as I am not good with electricity issues. May throw some offroad lights on it as well and might as well build that into the equation when thinking about new switches.

Any reason you can't use an original replacemet one? it's simple to install. Then just add a switch for your auxillary lights.

Or do you want some exotic look for your jeep. The wiring can get involved then.

No reason not to use an original replacement switch. If it is involved then I don't need to tangle with it. I thought it might be an easy cut and swap with some parts bin toggle switches.

There is absolutely nothing exotic about my primered CJ that is for sure!

Only trick in replacing the the original switch is pulling out the knob. There is a secret button on the bottom of the switch and if you hold this button in while pulling on the knob it will come right out. Then unscrew the bezel nut with a spanner (or I use a needle nose pliers) and you can drop the switch right down. Swap the plug onto the ew switch ad put it all back together again.

Take your old switch with you I understand there are two configurations of the plug on the back.
