The GM Saginaw column was used from '76 to beyond the CJ's last year.

The keys are GM blanks, regardless of the year. They aren't all going to be the GM "J" blank, but they are GM nonetheless.

GM vehicles used different blanks in different models and years as well. As a kid we had a '74 Chevy pickup whose keys wouldn't slide into our '81 Buick, just as an example.

up through the 95 YJ I think. After 86, Its a different column with different plastics/shape and the addition of the light switch and wiper switch on the column, but its the same size and mounts the same. Same turn signal wiring plug, etc. I have YJ half doors on my 83 CJ8 and wanted one key for the whole Jeep. A double sided key/cylinder from a 95YJ swapped right into the 83 column. Its a tad short but still works fine.

Ok They are just GM keys and you can not find the local. I would think you could get them on the inter-web. There are more GM parts available then Jeep parts. Check out LMC Truck I'm sure they have them. I know the interior light on a CJ hard top is the same as the ones in the 70 ' s Chevy trucks. They sell those.

Personally I would just go to a GM dealer and get one there. Same as I have gone to Ford to get an ignition module and wires.
