Personally, I would have had that white van towed so you could have the closer spot. Just sayin'

This is parked in front of my office now. I think I see a resemblance! And I definitely will not have it towed!

So, the other day, I had the Jeep out and decided to take it down to my insurance agent to show it to them. I had told them I got antique plates for it, and they said to bring it by some day so they can take pictures of it, and they could probable lower my insurance rate on it. So they got their pics, and I told them I wanted it insured for $15,000. I walked out of there with a full coverage policy with only a $500 deductible on collision and $50 on comp. Got all that for only $10.82 a month!

Now I'm curious what other people are paying to insure their Jeeps....

So I'm a little behind on posts but what is this "Jeep Day" event in Medix about? I've been up that way before and at that intersection of the restaurant, but never recall hearing of this. I'm jealous of you PA boys being able to cruise and wheel. Guess I just have to wait my turn.
Also, where is the Jeep Inn at? That would make a great backdrop for pics.

This year was the first annual Jeep day at Medix. Mark your calendar for next year! And the Jeep Inn is in Weedville, just down the road from Medix. See post #355, I used it as a backdrop already!

Finally found a set of half doors for the Jeep today! Got them off a guy locally for only $130. Just have to take them apart this weekend, repaint them with what little orange paint I have left, and put the lower hinges back on the Jeep.

Got my new doors torn apart Sunday, and painted them. Then went to clear coat them last night, and my clear coat turned to milk! And I used the last of my custom mixed paint, so I'm thinking I might be screwed now! Might just have to paint them black! Not too happy this morning!

Well I finally got both doors done, and put on the jeep, and took it for a quick spin last night up the road and back. On the way back, it died in my driveway! Had to tow it back into the garage. Tried starting it again, and nothing, but I could smell gas real bad. Took the air cleaner off, and found gas was leaking out of the fuel bowl vent on the carb. I got a Summit street and strip electric choke carb that was brand new when I did the motor 2 years ago, but it's only really been used since I got the jeep on the road in June. I don't know one thing about carbs, so anyone have any suggestions?

Decided to take the jeep out for a spin today after fixing some carb issues, and on the way home it died. Now I'm sitting here, it won't start, and it starting to rain. Of course, I have no top either. Turning out to be a great day! Did get some good pics though....

I have a Summit street and strip carb installed, which was new when I started building the Jeep. It has a sight glass on the float bowl, and the fuel level is supposed to be in the middle or slightly below on the sight glass according to the manual. Looking at it, the fuel bowl is completely full, and seems to be flooding the engine. The manual isn't very clear on how to adjust this either, but what would cause it to fill up like that? I took the needle and seat out and cleaned them up, even though they seemed clean already.

Still waiting for someone to come tow me home....

If I would have seen this earlier, I could have been there by now. Hope you finally made it home, those Amish buggies may have trouble giving you a tow.

I made it home. I got the tow strap hooked up, and when we started moving, I put it in gear and was able to get it going by pull starting it. Drove it the rest of the way home, parked it in the garage and shut it off. I hit the key again then, and it fired right back up. So I took the air cleaner off and checked the sight glass on the fuel bowl, which was full of gas still. I looked at the secondary, and it was normal. Still scratching my head over it!

Probably doesn't help much having a weak battery too. That's next on the list to get replaced!

Wish I could be of some help with the carb problem. I am one (small)step above completely clueless when it comes to them.

Same here! That's why I just bought a whole new carb. It was advertised as "bolt on and go", which was true until now!
