Well, I was hoping that my fears of dropping that screwdriver bit into the tranny were for nothing, but I started to hear some noises today, so I dug into it and fished a magnet down to the bottom, and I found it, hiding out under the reverse gear! I breathed a sigh of relief when I pulled the magnet out with this stuck to it. Crisis averted!

I think I might actually be ready to show it off this weekend! Fingers are crossed that I get my license plate by then. Gonna have to tweak the hood and front end a bit though to get the hood to fit good.

Looks awesome! I know you are proud! I believe I would put that screwdriver bit up on a shelf for posterity! It's as good of a catch as a 6 pound bass!

And now for the last piece of the puzzle! Drive it into the muffler shop this morning for custom tailpipes. First time on the open highway was pretty fun!

Are you going to the Medix Jeep Day tomorrow? If I can't find anybody to go wheeling with tomorrow locally, I may end up driving up that way. That would make a nice cruise through the mountains in the Jeep.

Just wanted to put an end to this problem. Never even was a problem. Drove it 18 miles yesterday, and never overheated. The needle hung out right below the high side of the gauge, but never got any hotter. When I got back, I attempted to remove the radiator cap, but could tell there was some pressure behind it. So all is well.

And on that note, I'm putting about 70 miles on it today, and heading to a Jeep show! Got my fingers crossed I make it back in one piece!
Oh, and I'm street legal now too, license plate came in the mail yesterday, just in time!

I just rolled in about 30 minutes ago. My phone crapped out, wifey expected me home hours ago, the ride turned out to be about a four hour loop.

Dang! Kind of glad I didn't press on any further! Did it get any harder from where I turned around? We made it back down to the river crossing, and soon as my front wheels hit the water, my engine stalled. Killed the battery trying to get it started. After some head scratching, I noticed my dizzy wasn't pointing the way it should be, so I turned it a bit (just another bolt I forgot to tighten), and with some jumper cables, and wet feet, we got it going again. Them girls back at the hotel did a poor job of washing it for me too! Despite losing 2 fender flares, I had an excellent time!

There were a few tricky spots here and there. A group of about eight took the hard loop. It was a great trail ride, being up on the ridges and dropping down into the valleys.
I'd like to run it backwards, start at the bottom of the mountain and go up. Make it a little more challenging.

130 mile drive, wheel it all over the mountain side, 130 miles home. I am whipped today.
Time to take a nap.
