You might need to thin it out more or possibly use a bigger tip.

the first thing i would tell you to do is clean and check the settings on the gun. much past that it is hard to help you dial in the spray without seeing what the gun is laying down....

Well, this is a little better. I thinned the paint a little, and soaked my gun in cleaner, and cleaned it out good. Sprayed a little better this time. The paint does have some daily coarse flake in it, so maybe a few good coats of clear will get it shining? Well see in a few minutes. The base is almost dry....

If you clear it, wait a few days and wetsand it with some 2000 and buff to smooth it out.

Ive been searching for a power steering bracket for a few days now with no luck. Found one on eBay, but lost the auction. So I called the local junkyard this morning only to be told they don't have anything that old. So i stopped by after work today and asked again. They took me for a ride around the yard and we found 5 full size wagoneers, 2 J10 trucks, and an eagle, all with V8's, and all with the bracket I need. So I'll be going back this weekend to pull some parts! Also found this nice clutch fan laying in the back of a J10 that I got for 20 bucks. If anyone needs any AMC V8 parts, I found the honey hole!

Raided the junkyard again yesterday, and got a new power steering pump and bracket, and a new leather wrapped steering wheel. I could of spent the day there, but unfortunately they closed at noon, and they had to kick me out! Two gallons of degreaser later, I got the pump cleaned, painted, and installed. Also picked up a new alternator today, and painted the new steering wheel. Soon I'll be able to fire her up and drive it out of the garage!

Looks good. What's left before you fire it up?

Just finished painting the right side fender. Once I get it mounted, I can mount the solenoid and finish wiring up the ignition, then connect the throttle linkage and vacuum lines, fill it up with coolant and oil, put some gas in it, and turn the key, put it in gear, and drive it out of the garage!

And then I'll have to finish everything else......

That's enough working on the Jeep for today too. Time to head to the hospital to get my lower back worked on with an epidural injection into the spine. Hopefully that will lead to longer days in the garage soon!

Got one fender done so far. Starting to finally take shape. It's supposed to be sunny and 70 here this weekend, so I'm going to try to get the whole Jeep painted by the end of the weekend. I finally got my spray gun dialed in good and my paint is laying nicely. Two coats of color, 3 coats of clear on what you see so far, and I got almost a mirror finish. Just some minor buffing later.

It's getting there, won't be long. I would have let you practice painting on mine first, before you do yours and need to do a nice job.
