Thanks, I think it was your thread. I'll try the torch method. then WD40. It hasn't been on there for very long, so hopefully it will come off easy.

I realized today that it's alot easier to work on the firewall when you can stand right in front of, so I got it painted, and started mounting everything to it.

Alright, I need everyone's opinion. I'm shopping for new wheels, and am torn between these two. I'll be painting the jeep Malibu Sunset Metallic Orange, pretty close to the color of my motor pictured in previous posts. All my trim will be black, so I wanted black wheels too. Might even do an orange pinstripe on the wheels. I'm leaning towards the Pro Comp wheels since my tires and shocks are all Pro Comp too. Plus, they are on sale now at 4WD.com. I can get a set of 5 delivered to my door for less than $500. Only problem is, they only have them in 15x10. My tires are on 8 inch wide rims now. Without running home to look at them, I believe they are either 10.5 or 11.5 inches wide. Will this work?
The Black Rock wheels are the right size, but more money of course. Gimme your opinions!

I'd go with the first ones in 10", your tires definitely look like 11.5s. Wider rims always look better IMO. You should try searching CL for those rims if you can, otherwise if you don't want to wait I'd say yea pull the trigger on them.

Are those 10 inch wide rims on your Jeep? I was just looking at my tires on Quadratec, They are Pro Comp Mud Terrains. I know they are 33's on 15 inch rims. The only width they come in on that size is actually 12.5. I don't want to wait, But I should probably wait until I get home at least to make sure my tires are wide enough. I think $465 delivered is a smokin deal for 5 alloy wheels! Now I just need to find something to do here at work so I don't go pullin the trigger just yet!

Yea mine are 10s with 35x12.5s. I had 33x12.5s on the same rims but 8" and they just looked too tucked in.

I don't like black rims at all. Makes them looked like spares or just spray painted black. But maybe that's just me. To each his own. On the rim size I'd go with 8" ones. The 10" rims tend to make your tires look fatter rather than taller. Now if your jumping up to 35" tires which are usually close to 14" wide, then yes go with 10" rims. Again, IMO.

I actually was going to just spraypaint the chrome rims I have now, but didn't want it to look cheesy. The other issue is, I only have the 4 rims, but I have 5 tires, so I'd have to try to find a matching rim for the spare. Also, I won't have any chrome anywhere else on the Jeep, so I think chrome rims would stick out like a sore thumb, IMO. This pic is a Volkswagen Beetle done by Chip Foose, and this is the color scheme I'm going with. Two tone orange and black.

Thanks, and with the $2000 per gallon pricetag for that exact paint, I'll be going just a shade off probably!

And I'd like to see Foose do a CJ7. Can't even imagine what it would turn out like!

See, I don't mind them when they're glossy and have other colors or chrome with them. But just flat black, nah, not for me.

I like the looks of the orange pinstripe around the wheel. I plan on doing that with mine once I get them. That should make it stand out just enough.

I sold my old cloth seats out of the jeep for 150.00 for the pair a few days ago, and headed down to the junkyard today to look for some nice leather seats. Found this pair out of a 94 blazer for only 100 bucks! So I went back out in the yard and found an underhood retractable light from a 92 GMC truck, and a lighted rear view mirror out of a Trans-Am. I figured the lights under the mirror will work great as a dome light, since I dont plan on running a top. I got the metal piece that glues to the windshield too, but will probably weld that to a bracket that I can bolt to the windshield frame. Ill probably mount the retractable light in the cab somewhere, since it has enough wire to wrap around the jeep twice!
