Spent another couple hours in the garage today, and got the right side mount done. Hope to get the other side started tomorrow. I'm still accepting any criticism on these mounts.....lol

Man, I can't criticize. I think they look great! You've done a good job. I would like to know the details. For example, what tubing size fits a poly bushing, metal sleeve through the bushing, etc? You know... the DETAILS! In case I ever wanted to make some...

I'm interested in the details for when it comes time to make an anti-wrap bar.

Details huh? I guess I could share some.

First of all, the bushings I used are rear leaf spring bushings (spring to frame), from Energy Suspension. So they come with the metal sleeve already. Paid $11 for the set. They fit nicely into 1.5 inch tubing, which I picked up at Lowes in the plumbing section. Got 2 5 inch lengths ($7 a piece), and 2 12 inch lengths ($10 a piece). Do the math, and you can see that it's much cheaper than factory or aftermarket mounts, as long as you can weld. I had some old shackles laying around too, that I sacrificed to make the tabs on the engine side. I ran out of MIG wire, or I would be working on the other one tonight. I'm pretty satisfied so far. I think they'll be bombproof!

Ok, I'm great at criticism.....

A) These are on your Jeep instead of mine, and

B) See A)

Looks good! I might have to do something similar. Better than spending over $100 on daystar poly mounts.

'84 CJ-7: Yota axles (spartan locked front, e-locked rear) 4" BDS, 1" Daystar & 3/8" shackle lifts, 35" X-Terrains on steelies, YJ Tub & family roll bar, heater blower upgrade, 4.2L w/MC2100 & Team Rush, Warn 8274. Rebuilt 4.2/4.0 hybrid, AX15 and twin sticks/clocking ring waiting to go in.

The advertised position for a topless, dirty jeep girl has been filled......by my wife. Thanks to all that applied.
<------------and yes, that is her.

Keeps the rear end from torquing up the leaf springs. With a SOA and soft leaf springs, mine are pretty well trashed.

Basically a traction bar in the hot rod world.

Slowly but surely. Got the spring hanger on one rail done, it seems to be the worst side. Hope I'm right.
I'm getting ready to start on the other spring hanger. It looks to be just rotted only on the bottom, the sides feel solid, unlike the other side was.
One step at a time.

Got right side mount all buttoned up tonight. Got a lot more clearance now between it and the header. Now, on to the other side.

I just noticed, if you look in the two holes in the frame between the motor mount bolts, you can actually see the green Eastwood internal frame coating. I love that stuff!

Got to work last night on the right side motor mount. Should be able to finish it up by tomorrow, so I can move on to the tranny skid plate. Here you can see the old lift shackle I sacrificed to make the tabs on the engine side.

Hassel,

The mounts are looking great!!

I note they are designed similar to the MORE mounts, but I think I prefer yours.
