You can buy the 1/4 panels cheaper than you can make them.
These are made Detroit, good heavy steel, have used their repair panels on a couple of projects.

Thanks for the link. I made my quarter panel for $39.99, so that was a better deal for me. But I see they sell windshield frames for only $106.00. I do need one of those too, and will probably get it from them. Beats $154 at Morris!

Nice bushing set, it looks almost like someone handed you an envelope of cash for new toys! Are you going to do all the bushings now?

They all went up on the shelf for now. I'll use them up as I take things apart here and there. I'll probably start with the suspension. I plan on ordering a 2.5 inch lift (part number TM3625-20012) from 4WD.com. I really do need new leaf springs, and new shocks, and new U bolts, so for $389, I might as well get the whole kit, and get the minimal lift that I want to use 32 inch tires. I've decided this will be my ONLY modification over stock.

For the body mounts, I'm going to try to raise the tub just enough to swap them out, and change out all the brake lines at the same time. The more I think about it, and after putting some miles on it already, I don't think I want to do a ground up restoration on it. It really doesn't need it. I believe I can fix the bad and turn it back into a beautiful CJ without turning it into a pile of parts first! I really like the idea of having an "all original", and rebuilding it I believe takes that away.

So, what I'm looking at now is:

Fix all the body rot (in progress now)
Strip off black paint, repaint red (original color)
Fix and replace worn mechanical parts (brake lines, transfer case)
Raptor line inside of tub (tinted red)
Replace worn seals and gaskets on doors and hard top
Replace or repair windshield frame
Replace rear crossmember and gas tank skid plate
New seats
Re-chrome or paint original wagon wheels
Replace all bushings
Replace worn leaf springs with 2.5 inch lift springs

That's it! That should keep me busy for the winter...

Yes, that was the 3M brushable seam sealer I used. Strong odor to it.

Leaves got mad and headed down to see Skizriz today, so I had some time to work in the shop. All I did though was cut down my new panel to fit. It's ready to be welded in tomorrow. Maybe by this weekend it will be done, and I can move on to the next spot under the door. Not sure what's under that patch, but it's not all the way through!

Spot weld after spot weld, my biggest repair is finally finished! Stuck a straight edge across it, and I shouldn't need very much filler. I'm satisfied with the way it turned out! Once I'm done patching, I'll go back and sand blast the primer off and brush on some Por-15 before I start with the filler.
