Haha, Maybe if you were a little closer, I would!

I did find another Jeep that's in my price range yesterday, and its definitely a project with some rust repair, and frame repair involved, which is no problem for me. The only thing is, dare I say it, It's a '97 TJ......

Hasselback, you wouldn't even be able to continue your "Let's try this again" thread. The CJ's are more fun, just hold tight and a good project will come along.

Best of luck in your search, things usually have a way of working out. I enjoyed reading your build thread, even though I started reading it about the time you were lining up a buyer.

Here's my thought......

I've owned a CJ for 3 and a half years now. I've only actually driven one since June 23rd of this year. The fun/work ratio is way off there, although most of the work was fun too. I'm thinkin it's time to switch gears a little, and get something I can have fun in now, and work on a little, and right now a TJ fits that bill. plus it can be more of a daily driver too. Plus, I found a '00 TJ for only $1900. But never fear, I'll always be in the market for another CJ! I just know that if I spend what I got now on another CJ, its going to be another 3 years before I can be able to drive it. I'm not that patient anymore.

a 97 tj would be a wrangler made 10 years after they stopped making Jeeps. You should know that. It's only a Jeep by brand.

I'm a little closer. You can come work on mine if you ever need your "fix". Part of it came from yours, so you could visit it.

Good luck with the search, hopefully you get another one soon. We still need to get together when you do, I want to run that trail again. That would be a great trip in the fall.

Well, I'll get a new one by Monday, and we can go hit that trail next weekend! The leaves up here are past peak, some trees bare already, but still some good scenery! Medix had another Jeep run the week before last, and somehow I didn't hear about it until it was too late!

Well, it seems as though the Jeep gods are smiling down upon me, as they have presented this to me for my taking at the eleventh hour.....

It's a 1981 CJ7, partially restored 5 years ago with a YJ tub, all new interior, 8000 pound winch, and new soft top. Only bad is, they must not of spent too much time on the frame ( I know how that goes ), as it is rusted out on the bottom near the rear spring hanger. It was inspected up until last month. His starting price is $3500.

I've already made arrangements to go look at it tomorrow at 3:00, and make a deal. My Jeep is scheduled to get picked up at noon tomorrow to begin it's journey to Connecticut. All this comes just hours after the '97 TJ I was going to go buy tomorrow sold! I love it when a plan comes together! Now everyone keep their fingers crossed that it all works out.

Here is the '81 for $3500:

I stand corrected, the Jeep gods are not smiling down upon me, they are snickering at me! Show me a nice Jeep to buy, then yank it out from under me just before I get there to grab it up!

The only ones I'm seeing worth buying for a decent price are down south in SC or Ga.!

It may be for the best. Do you really want to get into frame work again??? How soon we forget.......
Find one with a solid frame that needs a little body work. No more tearing it down so you can't drive it.
