hard doors latch?

I picked up some hard doors and just put them on today. I removed the supertop latch catch from the body. does the strike for the door just hold in the notch in the body or is there another latch I should have? seems to be alot of lateral play without a latch/latching point attached to the body also. thanks!

ps the jeep is an 84 cj7 and the doors are from a 77 I believe. it is not a paddle style handle on the doors.

Supposed to be a little catch for the slam latch to go over.

It wouldn't take too much to make a set out of some flat stock.
