Half door paint

I have an opinion question for everyone. I just got a set of half doors but unfortunately they are green so I need to paint them. My paint now is white with a blue pearl. I am wondering if I should try to color match them or go with a matte black finish on the doors. I have a black soft top on the way and also have a black hardtop. Any opinions and pics are are welcome.

I prefer color matched. I think black would look pieced together, kinda like they do now.

Just my opinion

I like color matched myself but I'm wondering how close it can be matched with the pearl in it. The guy that originally painted it doesn't paint anymore and isn't sure of his mix.

Most good body shops will have a digital color-matching device that should get you pretty close.

Yep I checked with a local body shop and it kinda hurt how much they wanted for just the 2 doors.

Did you ask them if they'd run the color match and just provide you the paint?

Alternatively, I also think most automotive paint supply stores will have the same digital matching device.

Good luck,

Matt

I agree. Find the color match and paint them yourself. It shouldn't be too much $$ in paint and its a good way to get some experience. If you mess up, just repaint it. Not too big of an area, and its separated enough from the rest of the body that if you aren't dead on 100% perfect, you won't really be able to tell.

I've found the stuff online to do it. Just got to one get up the nerve to attempt it and two decide what brand paint. The places here didn't want to sell just the paint. Also the paint store color match I had done I wasn't sure how it would turn out since it uses paint to copy the look and not pearl powder.

Did mine myself too. Take them all apart, sand them, and spray away.

Bkack doors, top and trim as to the left. My doors are fabric but the colour scheme works as it is extended to the interior. So red or black with chrome/stainless trim.
