Sorry about the novel of text and the onslaught of pictures (and the poor quality of many of them).

What do you guys think?

The picture of the subs in the back made me lol. It definitely will need some work but the body and frame look solid. Glad things are working out for you.

Papa355... I hope you get that tractor one day. So cool that you get to see it being used still, but I know you'd love to own it.

Fred... I think dad would be proud. Emotional day.

Hey, we'll the pics look to be okay! The way circumstances are going, it would seem you have no choice but to buy it! There will definitely be frustrations along the way, but this is a once in a lifetime project. Don't rush it, and do your best to prepare as much as you can before it arrives.

Can't remember if you said, but do you have storage for it when you get it?

Check out my Build

I have a carport. I'm going to put it there for now. It isn't completely closed in, but will have to do. I'll put it on the side of the carport that's up against the house and pulled it in. Maybe I can get a cover for it? Guy has one on Craigslist for $40 new in box. Would that be a good idea?

Save your money for a better one that's more water resistant . Remember, you get what you pay for!
And Congratulations on getting the Jeep. Dude, I had tears in my eyes last night when I read about the the wall mart/McDonald's thing, and then when your were 8 or 9.
When anyone around you says "who's the man" there is no need for you to look around, JUST LOOK IN THE MIRROR!!

Damn, this has been a fun read.

Be sure to thank your Dad for making it happen, when you see him, again.

Now, go get that CJ, and bring it home to where it belongs.

Matt posted exactly what I was going to type!

If you haven't already seen it, I would recommend reading JF member Ken4444's refurbish thread.

There is a ton of detailed and helpful posts within that you will certainly find useful.

He try's to use all of the factory parts, and only replace what truly needs it.

He has his '7 set-up so that it's street friendly and reliable too.
